China's PET bottler sells equity to UK firm

K-based private equity company CVC Capital Partners has purchased a 29% shareholding in Asia's largest PET bottle producer Zhuhai Zhongfu Enterprise for US225 million.Based in Zuhai,Guangdong,in China,Zhongfu is a leading supplier to Coca Cola and PepsiCo.Producing 12 billion PET bottles/year for carbonated soft drinks(CSDs),teas,juices,beer and water,the company has also diversified its operations to include the production of preforms,labels,caps,cup containers,cartons and plastic cases.It had sales of US300 million in 2006.
