Berstorff has introduced a strip-winding unit for roll covering that is fully automated. Previously, extruded rubber strip was rolled on a covering unit, either at an angle or perpendicular to the roll core. Hence, the operators of such equipment had to continually monitor and control the covering thickness as well as guide the extruded strip on to the roll core.
