German company Graewe's winding equipment for pipes and profiles comprises automatic double coilers. Basically, an extruded pipe is fixed to one of the flaps of the winding turret and the winding process is initiated. When it has reached its desired length, the rotating arum turns 180 degrees and changeover from one winding turret to the other is done automatically without slowing down the extrusion process.
