Industry must work harder to dispel myths about plastics recycling among consumers especially in the run up to the roll-out of mixed plastics recycling schemes. This is according to John Simmons chief executive of national plastics recycling charity Recoup who spoke to PR W at a conference held in London on Tuesday. Simmons added that he was optimistic that a market could be found for mixed plastics. He estimated that an additional 200,000 tonnes of capacity for plastics packaging recycling would come on stream over the next 12 to 18 months.
