We read with interest the article published by Dr. Veiga and colleagues. Although the authors are to be commended for their aim of conducting a prospective, randomized, double-blind trial about the effect of different chemical formulations of antiseptics on skin bacterial flora and rates of postoperative infections, there are some issues with both the design of the study and the statistical analysis used.
