Rare craniofacial clefts, although infrequent, have fostered much interest in their repair over the years due in part to their protean manifestations. Not only is the deformity often grotesque in its appearance but the associated functional problems can be extremely difficult to manage, involving not only oral function but also nasal, ocular, and neural function as well.
