NOTES ON AVIAN SPECIES RECORDED ON MARIA ISLAND DURING THE 2011-2012 SEASON OF THE MARIA ISLAND WALK

Guides for The Maria Island Walk have been recording bird observations on the island since 2005 and the data is forming an excellent record for comparison into the future. As Maria Island is a refuge and home to a wide variety of birds, it will be interesting to see how they are affected by the proposed introduction of the Tasmanian Devil to the island, which may occur as early as November 2012.
