The survivors of the terror attack against Charlie Hebdo published the issue, entitled "Le Journal des Survivants" ("Journal of the Survivors"), in homage to the 17 journalists, police officers and civilians killed on January 7 and 9 in Paris, a week after the attack. Interest in the publication skyrocketed and demand for the first post-attack issue was overwhelming.
