The majority of lesions that arise within the lateral ventricles are relatively slow-growing; consequently, the early manifestations of a mass lesion commonly include subtle neurological problems that can go undetected for an extended period of time. This report illustrates a typical history, physical examination, imaging findings, surgical treatment, and outcome of a patient with a lateral ventricular tumor. Several characteristics that are unique to these patients are described.
