摘要

Our imaging platform is a mobile, ceiling-mounted 1.5-T magnet. The human-magnet interface is designed to use the innovative magnetic resonance imaging system (IMRIS) magnet as another surgical tool, with minimal disruption to standard surgical methods. Our series of 313 patients was analyzed prospectively, and many procedures show optimized accomplishment of surgical objectives. Low-grade glioma and pituitary adenoma cases were frequently noted to have residual tumor, and epilepsy patients had amygdalohippocampal remnants on intraoperative images. Surgeons then ensured maximal safe resection of these targets, as well as cranial base and odontoid pathology. Diffusion-weighted imaging and perfusion imaging studies also were used to exclude ischemic or perfusion abnormalities after aneurysm clipping.
