Fungal Peritonitis Due to Scedosporium prolificans.

A 23-year-old woman on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (PD) presented on 13 August 2008 with turbid peritoneal effluents and abdominal pain. At 5 years of age, the patient was diagnosed as having focal segmentalglomerulosclerosis, and she was placed on PD until 8 years of age, at which time she underwent kidney transplantation. In 2000, she was placed back on PD due to graft failure. She has had several episodes of peritonitis, the last of which, an f. coli infection, occurred in 2004.
