Brexit means Brexit but what does that mean, exactly?

The UK has voted 52:48% to leave the European Union and now has a new Prime Minister, Theresa May. She has appointed enthusiastic Brexiteers to the key ministries that will negotiate the divorce. A trio of poisoned chalices? Too soon to say. But, things have calmed down a little. However, there are many uncertainties as the EU and UK look into the future. Firstly, when will the Brexit process be triggered? The UK must do this and will inevitably invoke Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon at some point. But probably not until after Christmas 2016. Though things are still moving quickly.
