Sustainability is more than a buzzword, it has become an important and increasingly measured part of corporate life. People outside of industry often seem to forget that business exists to make a profit by producing goods that improve the quality of life. They often argue that business is driven only by profit with little or no thought for the environment. It is more complex than that. Those of us who work in industry understand that we must balance the pressure for profitability and world-class products with sustainable production processes. We have families too, and we want a good world for them and our children.
