摘要

The life of castables is affected by thermal stress owing to temperature gradients. Therefore, it is important to consider thermo-mechanical properties for control of thermal stress generation. The thermo-mechanical properties are affected by the castable microstructure. The grain size composition affects the thermo-mechanical properties of castables as reported previously~(1)).Admixtures are considered as one of the important factors. Admixtures are used to add characteristics not originally present in the castable. However, the microstructure of a castable is altered by admixtures and their effects on the mechanical properties in the high-temperature region have not been sufficiently clarified. The effects of various admixtures on the thermo-mechanical properties of a low cement castables are presented in this paper.
