摘要

The chemical composition of the spinel and periclase solid-solution in the fused magnesia-chrome grain depends n the composition of chrome ore and amount of added hromium-oxide in the starting materials. The newly-developed fused magnesia-chrome grain with high Cr_2O_3 and low flux content is abundant in spinel with high Cr_2O_3 content. The fused grain contains much spinel, even at high temperature. The brick made from this fused grain exhibited excellent corrosion resistance. Purifying the fused magnesia-chrome grain leads to a decrease in liquid content, resulting in increased corrosion resistance. However, purification tends to result in an in sufficiently-sintered matrix texture of brick.
