The authors address an extremely important issue that is faced daily by the endourologist, the general urologist, the operating, room and hospital purchasing and administrative departments-how does one contain the costs of performing basic and advanced endourologic procedures yet maintain an optimally functioning fleet of ureteroscopes? This is particularly in the context of escalating health care delivery expenditures while continuing to provide cutting-edge therapies.
