Re: Koraitim: Predictors of erectile dysfunction post pelvic fracture urethral injuries: A multivariate analysis (Urology 2013;81:1081-1085)

We read this article with interest and congratulate the author for analyzing the predictors of erectile dysfunction (ED) after pelvic fracture urethral injury. We would like to highlight certain issues regarding this article. We want to know what radiological investigation was used to measure urethral gap in patients included in this study, as spurious estimation of a long or a short defect can result from incomplete filling of the posterior urethra if preop-erative assessment is done with combined antegrade and retrograde urethrography. Whereas, magnetic resonance imaging correctly measures the length of the urethral defect with no problems of spurious estimation, and clearly depicts the extent of fibrosis and degree and direction of prostatic displacement.
