The CAS Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics has performed the whole process development covering the synthesis of ethylene glycol via trans-esterification of methanol with vinyl carbonate obtained through the reaction of ethylene oxide with CO2 along with co-production of dimethyl carbonate.Currently this development work is in the pilot testing phase.
