A novel family of limited diffraction, wideband ultrasonic wave pulses

We derive a family of exact bandlimited solutions of the homogeneous scalar wave equation which is theoretically nondiffracting. Numerical simulations using the Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction formula show that a fine and uniform wave pulse with a large field depth can be obtained in the ultrasonic frequency range by using this technique.
