摘要

The work which were performed in the Chair for the Technology of Foundry Moulds are, apart from the others, concentrated on realisation of problems connected with the quality of the castings surface. Further problems comprise the choice of protective coatings for green sand moulds for iron castings, aspiration for decreasing the amount of entrapped slag in iron castings as well as the technology of heavy S.G. iron castings.In the article the in the Chair elaborated non-destructive testing of the structure control and control of the of iron castings are presented An example of application of the method of the ultrasonic waves propagation for testing the degree of hardness of moulds made of chemically bounded sand-mixes is given. Within the range of computer-aided technologies, engineering programmes to design gating systems and to feed grey cast iron and S.G. iron castings have been elaborated.
