Underground railway in Warsaw. State of the 1~(st) line construction and prospects of further development

The Warsaw underground rallway is so far the only underground building engineering object realised on so large scale in Poland since 1983. Since the beginning of the underground construction the Authors used to describe particular stages of construction in materials for the traditionally organised scientific-technical conferences in the Mining and Metallurgy Academy in Cracow. The reference list enables the interested in to recollect main problems of the construction included in the particular reference items. In this paper a broad view of main problems and issues connected with the construction of the 1~(st) line of the underground executed by mining and open-cut methods is presented.
