Clinical Forum: Fasciolosis in sheep and cattle

The geographical distribution of Fasciola hepatica has changed over the past decade and fasciolosis is now an important cause of production loss in sheep and cattle throughout the UK. The seasonal pattern of the disease has also changed, becomingless predictable due to the uncertainties of localised temperature, rainfall and flooding. As a consequence effective prevention of fasciolosis has become problematic, leading to severe disease outbreaks, which are cause for welfare concern
