On March 3,2006 the project "Combination Process for Manufacture of MTBE and Di-isobutylene through C_4 Olefins Polymerization Followed by Etherification" performed jointly by RIPP and the Shijiazhuang Refining and Chemical Stock Company had passed in Beijing the technical appraisal organized by the Technology Development Division of Sinopec Corp.
