Total monthly power demand in England, Wales and Scotland continues to fall, with June down to 21.81TWh, compared to May's 22.08TWh; a fall of 1.2 percent . This decrease is due to lighter evenings and warmer weather. Demand is also being affected by the economic conditions with industrial production remaining soft over the month. Demand is expected to remain soft throughout the summer and possible even beyond. This month's figure is lower than that recorded for June 08, which saw a total demand of 24.35TWh. Meaning this total demand is 10 percent lower compared with June last year.
