Total monthly power demand in England, Wales and Scotland fell over May compared to April, down 27.99TWh to 25.62TWh, from the previous month's 27.99TWh. This decrease is due to the lighter evenings and warmer weather associated with spring and the move into summer. However, this month's figure higher than that recorded for April 07, which saw a total demand of 25.29TWh. This figure being directly comparable with the same period this year, as it's now been over 3 years since BETTA was introduced.
