To make sure that PV power plants operate reliably over many years, it is necessary to have appropriate overvoltage protection as well as high-quality inverters, because the electronics need the optimal protection, even during a thunderstorm. In addition to this, PV power plants must in general be built in such a way that atmospheric influences cannot pose a danger to people or other electronic systems.
