PV grid parity analyses have traditionally focused on small-scale rooftop PV, because retail electricity tariffs are high enough for PV's levelized cost of energy (LCOE) to compete. So it is already well known that PV grid parity has been reached in several markets both for residential and commercial consumers and more countries are expected to reach grid parity soon, as retail electricity rates keep rising and the cost of PV power is declining.
