The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), main financial partners of CEI member countries, was established in 1991. Its stockholders are 60 countries of the world, the European Union, as well as the European investment bank, Ukraine's portion in the EBRD authorized capital is 1 percent. One of the priorities of the EBRD activities is to help countries of Central and Eastern Europe and CIS move from command economy to market one.
