A contribution to the evaluation of the operating life of hoisting steel ropes used in Slovak mines

Hoisting ropes are an important highly stressed part of hoisting equipment. They are used for transport of people and material. On them in a decisive measure depends the safety and reliability of operation of the equipment on which the rope is used. For users of the hoisting ropes the service life of the ropes plays an important role, which at present is an important factor especially from the economical point of view.In the paper are given the analysis of construction of hoisting steel wire ropes of chosen hoisting in Slovakia, evaluation of their service life on the basis of the technical-operational conditions of the rope's work and the rope's hoisting work.
