摘要

The design rules regarding the bending and shear capacity of reinforced beams with pretensioning were examined within the scope of a research project sponsored by the _″Deutscher Beton- und Bautechnik Verein E.V. ″. All flexure experiments showed a sufficient ductile failure mechanism. Within the shear experiments a high concrete contribution to the shear strength was observed in addition to the truss model. The concrete contribution increased with a decreasing stirrup reinforcement ratio. It can be explained by a strutted frame system, which is favoured by the prestressing. The experimental failure loads exceeded the characteristic ones calculated by existing design rules in all cases.
