The decapeptide Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH or GnRH I,pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH_2) also known as Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH),plays a central role in the regulation of pituitary gonadal axis (1).GnRH secreted from the hypothalamus in a pulsatile pattern into the hypothalamo-hypophyseal portal circulation,acts upon its receptor in the anterior pituitary and thus regulates the production and release of the gonadotropins.
