On the road to cost-competitive cellulosic ethanol

The fuel ethanol industry is making good progress towards converting lignocellulosic feedstock (biomassj to ethanol in an economical way. However, even though the cost of suitable processes and enzymes has been cut, there is still some way to go before the industry booms. Now is the time for the myriad of separate players to come together and join forces for the optimization of the entire process. Without efficient collaboration and subsequent integration of technologies between the industrial players we will not be able to fulfill the target of creating cost-competitive cellulosic ethanol.
