Policy proposals for integrating forest, water and people in the Tigris and Euphrates watershed.

摘要

The Tigris and Euphrates watershed is vital for the water balance of four countries in the Middle East (Iraq, Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey and Iran), where competition for water is increasingly a source of conflict. The relations among forest, water and people to be considered in developing policies and collaboration for integrated conservation and management of forests and water in the region are analysed. Basic information needs for better management of forests and water are given.
