New Rodemacher unit construction project on target for 2009 completion

Cleco Power remains "on schedule and on budget" with the construction of the third generating unit at its Rodemacher Power Station. The new 600-MW unit, which will utilize circulating fluidized bed technology and burn 1.5 million tons of petroleum coke annually, will be located in Boyce, LA. Construction work began on the unit in February of 2006 and is expected to be completed in late 2009. "It's probably 60 percent complete as far as construction." a Cleco official told U.S. Coal Review. "So far, the schedule looks good and so does the budget. We're pleased with the project."
