U.S. met producers, European buyers eginning to reach agreements

Our buddy Gerard MeGloskey of McCloskey's Coal Report is pursuing confirmation of strong reports that some U.S. metallurgical settlements have been done with European consumers. McCloskey thinks that Patriot Coal and TECO Coal have settled with Corns for >34 percent high-vol. U.S. Coal Review has heard similar news from three U.S. met coal sources. Patriot is thought to have agreed to supply 600,000 metric tonnes. McCloskey's sources have pegged the price at close to 112 dollars/tonne, while U.S. Coal Review hears 115 dollars. McCloskey heard a similar number for TECO, though the producer seems to have indicated to the market that 120 dollars-plus is closer to the truth.
