Headwaters wants to be known as something more than a coal synfuel technology giant. In that vein, the company said it is pursuing several opportunities that will enlarge its footprint in the energy technology and services industries. A discussion of those opportunities is planned for Headwaters' annual Investment Analyst Conference in Park City, UT. The company promises to detail plans for new forays into "clean coal" technology and alternative fuels markets. "Improving the environmental profile of coal as an energy source is an increasingly important national priority," Kirk A. Benson, Headwaters chairman and CEO, said. "During the recent presidential election, both major political parties advocated strong Clean Coal programs.
