Abandoned mine land reclamation funding for 2008 more than doubles

The U.S. Office of Surface Mining Reclamation & Enforcement announced that 274 million dollars is available in fiscal year 2008 grants to states and tribes to restore abandoned mine land, treat acid mine drainage and other uses. Funding totaled 132 million dollars in fiscal year 2007.
