Appalachian Power, PSC reach agreement for revenue increase

Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power have filed a settlement agreement with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia in the companies' rate case that will provide for an initial 44 million dollars increase in revenues, in part to recover costs from environmental investments and fuel and purchased power expenses. The initial increase becomes effective July 28, 2006. The increase consists of a 56 million dollars rise for fuel and purchased power costs and 23 million dollars for recovery of the costs of the Wyoming-Jacksons Ferry transmission line and construction of scrubbers at Appalachian Power's Mountaineer and Amos plants.
