Cloud Peak Energy battles floods, picks up reserves during busy second quarter

Cloud Peak Energy is sold out for 2011, will average 12.91 dollars/ton for the year and already has 81 million tons under contract for 2012. Cloud Peak reported its second quarter earnings and had a net income of 94.6 million dollars during the quarter and 121.4 million dollars for the first six months of the year. The company said the highlight of the quarter was successful bids on the West Antelope II North and South coal tracts that have over 400 million tons of mineable reserves.
