GE Financial Services wants to expand coal reach, adds Eyster

Jerry M. Eyster, a veteran coal industry executive, has joined GE Energy Financial Services' Strategic Marketing unit to help identify and evaluate investment opportunities, the company said. EFS has invested more than 4 billion dollars in coal, ranging from mining-related equipment to coal-fired power stations. "We have targeted coal as a growth area," Matthew Siegel, GE Energy Financial Services' managing director for Strategic Marketing, said. "Jerry brings a broad understanding of how coal fits into shifting energy markets under changing environmental regulations, along with detailed knowledge of the people and economics in coal."
