Optimistic source: Prices for CAPP coal could climb to $115/ton this summer

A source came across like he was in the audience of "The Price is Right" when it came to predicting where steam coal prices were going to go this summer. Throw out a number and he would say "higher" in return. He was basing the projection on some recent business he did. "We just moved some coal for $78 a ton and I'm telling you it was junk," the source said. "The buyer needed the coal. He knew he wasn't getting top quality stuff but he needed it and we had some to sell."
