More musings on the RMCMI annual meeting starting with Colin Marshall's presentation "What's the Cost of Giving up Coal". Mr, Marshall is the President and CEO of Cloud Peak Energy. (Jim Thompson reported on this presentation in the July 4 edition of US Coal Review. If I say anything that contradicts him, I'm wrong.) Actually, Colin was rather emphatic that the domestic use of coal will continue. In spite of everything, coal is still the largest source of electricity and with the projected growth in demand for electricity we will need all the sources of electricity we have available. As far as the export market for PRB coal, the targets for export coal will burn coal even if it isn't PRB coal.
