Joy encouraged by strong order book in China, some new muscle on U.S. side

Fresh off another strong quarterly performance, global mining equipment supplier Joy Global remains encouraged by a strong order book from China and even in the U.S. The company reported net sales for the quarter of 896 dollars million compared to 924 million dollars in the second quarter of last year. New orders in the second quarter of 1.05 dollars billion were 43 percent higher than new incoming orders of 731 million dollars received in the second quarter of 2009. Current quarter original equipment orders were up 55 percent, while after market orders increased 36 percent.
