Southern Company willing to look at every basin and even every continent with RFP for Georgia Power

Southern Company Services, as agent for Georgia Power, made it very clear in its latest RFP it is interesting in broadening its coal supply horizons. The utility said it "requests that all interested Illinois Basin, Northern Appalachian, Central Appalachian, Southern Appalachian, import, and Western bituminous coal suppliers submit bids under this solicitation." SCS is in the market for Georgia Power's short and long term coal requirements at the Norfolk Southern-served Hammond, Wansley and Yates generating stations.
