Nation's first application for revolutionary hydrogen fuel electric generating facility with CO2 capture, sequestration to be filed

Hydrogen Energy International LLC, a joint venture of BP Alternative Energy and Rio Tinto, announced plans July 30 to file an Application for Certification (AFC) before the California Energy Commission on July 31, for a proposed hydrogen fuel production facility and power plant in Kern County, CA. The filing initiates a comprehensive regulatory review process and, upon approval, grants permission for the construction of the nation's first industrial-scale low-carbon power plant with carbon capture and sequestration.
