Warren Buffett is set to be in the coal business - sort of - at least for now. MidAmerican Energy Holdings and Constellation Energy have reached a tentative agreement in which MidAmerican will purchase all of the outstanding shares of Constellation Energy for a cash consideration of approximately 4.7 billion dollars, or 26.50 dollars per share. Sources in the coal industry expect MidAmerican to move aggressively to shed itself of the Constellation energy trading book, including coal, but we shall see. Constellation has had the book on the sale block.
