Ukraine's Metinvest has completed its purchase of United Coal, perhaps closing, for now, the book on international steel giants' acquisition of U.S. coal mining properties. The price being bandied about is in the 800 million dollars to 1 billion dollars, and that maybe makes some sense if one considers the value of some other recent metallurgical coal acquisitions, especially if expectations are tempered to the lower side of the window.
