European met market taking baby steps toward recovery

It might be time to look beyond China for renewed metallurgical coal sales. At least from the perspective of U.S. suppliers, the prospects from other sources - namely Europe - are beginning to emerge following the economic downturn that slowed considerably the production from the country's steelmakers. The interest might not be enormous and it might even be short-lived, but Alpha Natural Resources' CEO Kevin Crutchfield informed listeners on a recent investors call that the need appears to be there at the moment.
