After the fall

On 23 April 2013 garment workers in Dhaka, Bangladesh, complained of cracks in the walls of Rana Plaza garment factory and evacuated the building, fearing the damage to the structure would prove fatal. Despite an engineer deeming the crumbling structure unsafe, the factory owners compelled their employees back to the floor, threatening redundancy or loss of wages.
