A Higher Level

In 1992 the European Foundation of Quality Management published the EFQM excellence model, offering a framework against which organisations wanting to improve could assess how well their management system is performing. The model is now used by thousands of organisations all over the world to measure improvement and benchmark themselves against other businesses. However, the journey to becoming truly excellent is neither simple nor quick and since the model's inception a host of different awards have been created to not only recognise those who have applied it well, but also to help organisations maintain enthusiasm during their long excellence journey.
